from what i've heard, the local media (print and tv) is blasting Romney for the Jeep ad - and as one pundit put it, on tv the media says its a lie and then a commercial break there it is, reminding people that Romney is put out a falsehood. So the commercial is probably sealing the deal in Ohio for Obama. But Obama was probably going to win anyway, which is why Romney's team is going for the desperation lie.

Romney needs to be blasted for those Jeep ads. What red blooded American consumer is gonna want to buy a Jeep made in China? There goes sales. There goes factory jobs.

I took this personally because Mr. flower's job is directly affected by the whims of the buying public, Chrysler specifically. No one buys a Jeep. The Jeep doesn't need maintenance. Mr. flower gets laid off. Again.

I hope the union guy reamed Romney a good one.

Ed is a huge labor supporter, and he interviewed one of the top guys representing the union. So the whole segment was basically the union stating their side of the issue, and why they are bringing the suit. The union rep also blasted Romney for his Jeep ads, for the reason that it was hurting the Jeep brand, possibly chasing potential customers away, and thus hurting American jobs.

Mr. Day, do you recall a while back how insistent Harry Reid was about Mitt Romney disclosing his financials? Do you think Reid might have known about this then? Because I don't believe Reid would have been so insistent if he didn't have good reason. And this is as good a reason as any.

Also, wouldn't it have been an advantage to hold onto that information until the last minute? To nudge those undecideds and whatnot?

Nope, I haven't sent it anywhere but here. The story is out there, waiting to be found and read -- I didn't do any extraordinary snooping --just came across it in my usual perusals, so I reckon TPM, et al will do the same. HuffPo has something.

And according to the UAW site, a letter was first sent to the ethics committee on August 23rd.
A follow-up letter was sent yesterday.

Apparently, these good government groups are saying it's a matter of disclosure.

"Mitt Romney‟s financial disclosures are not in compliance with the Ethics in Government Act, 5 U.S.C. App. § 101 et seq., and do not provide the information the public has a right to know about candidates‟ stock holdings. As you know, the Act requires candidates for federal office to disclose their financial holdings so that the public can identify potential conflicts of interest and personal economic priorities of federal officials and candidates. However, candidate Romney has refused to disclose most of his stock holdings. This lack of disclosure undermines public confidence in government, denies voters the facts they need to make an informed decision in the 2012 presidential election, and violates both the spirit and the letter of the law."

I think that's where the conflict of interest comes into play.

As for teeth, yes, I think it has some. The problem is getting the MSM to chew.
