No, I agree. There is no straight line between a rejection of the Tea Party and an adoption of any kind of progressive agenda. But it's at least somewhat encouraging that Americans have placed a limit on how much of the radical right stuff they will tolerate.

They lost the culture wars long time ago, that part of the Tea Party was a last gasp.

I don't think that means the left wins the argument about big Federal government, though.

If they had been smart, the Tea Party would not have been a coalition with culture warriors, but more strictly libertarian.
