It has consistently pandered to the right wing of its already right-leaning base.</p> <p>Last week's UN vote alongside the Coalition of the Rocky Outcrops (Palau, Nauru, Micronesia and the Marshall Islands) demonstrated this government's growing disconnect with (and contempt for) public opinion -- as did its withdrawal from the Kyoto Protocol, its muzzling of federal scientists, its build-more-prisons approach to justice, and its widespread election tampering in May 2011.</p> <p>If two-thirds of Canadians are dissatisfied with Parliament, it's because roughly the same proportion voted for parties other than the one currently in power.</p> </div></div></div> Mon, 03 Dec 2012 17:30:07 +0000 acanuck comment 170983 at http://dagblog.com
