That could easily sound like a threat to me. The implication of Sperling saying that Woodword <em>would</em> regret it is that he was going to make him regret it. The transcript of the pertinent part of the email is here:<br /><br /> "I know you may not believe this, but as a friend, I think you will regret staking out that claim,"<br /><br /> That is believable to me as simply saying that Woodward would come to regret it because he was mistaken. I do not believe that either Hannity, the far right-wing propagandist, nor Woodward, an accomplished word smith, are unaware of that slight change in the wording and how it changes the likely meaning.
