All of these killers were often dealing with serious mental illness - but they certainly seem a bit restrained compared to what we are seeing now, aren't they?

There usually was a big man hunt and a mystery as to who did it. There was usually a smaller body count.

Guys like T.J. Lane, James Holmes, etc. - who explode out of the blue and seem to act as if nothing happened at all, even waiting for the police to arrest them - you have never seen anything like this before except maybe in a warzone. And you certainly never saw it happen every single day. We all know something is off.

As for acting like every case supports my theory, it is only ones like this - with young individuals who obviously spent time in the modern psychiatric system (you don't really believe TJ Lane's disturbances were "untreated," do you?) in which the involvement of medication causing "homicidal ideation" really seem likely.

Shootings at Chinese restaurants in Philadelphia, etc. more than likely are the culprit of an insane living climate that this country now is immersed in. That's far more disturbing than the simple possibility of firearms or drugs destroying us.

Sat, 23 Mar 2013 04:48:50 +0000 Orion comment 175986 at http://dagblog.com Huh? Looks to me that this guy has a permanent case of "homicidal ideation," with or without prescription meds, as he's still doing it at his sentencing hearing over a year later. At his sentencing hearing, for chrissakes!

Looking at the Wikipedia entry, I'd buy the genetic argument over anything else:

Although family court records concerning T.J. Lane had not been released, as of March 12, 2012, the press did expose criminal records of Lane's father, Thomas M. Lane, Jr. The records showed that in 2002 the elder Lane was incarcerated for one year for attempted murder. In an ordeal lasting nine hours, he physically and verbally assaulted a woman while three children were present. In addition, "he has arrests on a wide range of offenses including drug abuse and possession, violation of probation, public intoxication and disorderly conduct."[42]

And Wikipedia happens to quote another article which counters your opinion that it's mental health treatments that are causing the problem; my highlighting:

The Monitor article included information from Kenneth Trump, the president of a school safety consulting firm.
