Pretty much the same information and explanation of analysis was presented but this person came to the opposite conclusion. He thought it was smokeless powder which he said actually does produce some grey smoke. Presumably there would be concrete dust produced too. Also, smokeless powder is used for gunpowder so I assume it is available to anyone at Walmart or a gun store for reloading. This type of gunpowder produces a much slower explosion, technically not an explosion but a fast burn. I'm betting with this guy based on the video I saw.

Wed, 17 Apr 2013 17:43:35 +0000 A Guy Called LULU comment 176832 at http://dagblog.com A lid from one of the http://dagblog.com/comment/176829#comment-176829
In reply to Stories in the Smoke: What a Bomb Expert Sees

A lid from one of the pressure cookers that investigators believe were used on Monday was found on a rooftop, giving a sense of the force of the blast

This New York Times' home page lede for Boston Investigation Moves Into Third Day made me think of Hall saying the color of the smoke, and the volume, suggested a high explosive.

Wed, 17 Apr 2013 17:13:04 +0000 artappraiser comment 176829 at http://dagblog.com You're welcome, momoe.
