Can't remember the exact quote or timing, but my sense is that it was a way of excusing the aftermath of toppling a MidEast dictator without a follow-on plan. He didn't imo say, "...there were failure modes that didn't occur to anyone".,which is clear language, because his aim was obfuscation, not clarification.

Mon, 09 Sep 2013 17:41:32 +0000 Oxy Mora comment 183656 at http://dagblog.com Mr. Day, I see you are still http://dagblog.com/comment/183654#comment-183654
In reply to I must have ranted against

Mr. Day, I see you are still in good form. I work with safety-critical systems, and one of the hardest tasks is to try to determine what are all the possible ways that the systems can fail. You always need to assume that there are failure modes that have not occurred to anyone.

Sun, 08 Sep 2013 20:41:20 +0000 Verified Atheist comment 183610 at http://dagblog.com I must have ranted against http://dagblog.com/comment/183608#comment-183608
In reply to Rumsfeld's Chobani bank shot.

I must have ranted against Rummy fifty times and I only started in 2008. hahahahha

We know what we know and we dont know what we know....

This is the guy who made 100 mill on the damn RX for all crap?

Rummy was just one of those crooks who made all of his money on gov and like Cheney claims to be a capitalist. haahahaha

Rachel who drives me nuts at times, made it clear.

If you find yourself in some situation where you need good advice concerning foreign affairs,

just go ahead and skip whatever cheney or rummy or feith or whatever intend to ADVISE YOU ABOUT!. hhahahahahahahahah

Really, I understand something about what the teabaggers are talking about.

DO NOT TRUST ANYONE!

But to go back to the Cheney Administration in an attempt to receive advice concerning foreign matters? On our own. To bring it to an end a civil war/proxy war, in a way that no one can even imagine, with a plan we do not possess.

The bombs may be smart, but we aren't if we dip even our little toe into this bloodbath. If Obama's doing this to show he has 'backbone' I say we already know he doesn't on issues where it counts, here at home. Maybe his 'capital' will be expended to the extent that his pending nomination of Larry Summers to the Fed goes down the tubes too.

Sat, 07 Sep 2013 16:39:33 +0000 NCD comment 183573 at http://dagblog.com
