Actually, what are the benefits? They get to not look stupid for spending so much emotional energy and time on a for-profit entertainment corporation? They get to lord it over fans of other teams? They learn to worship other people as heroes for their handling of a ball, or for their ability to run or "fight"? Their season tickets increase in value? Their team gets to go to Disney World? What, what do they really get when they win? It makes them proud? Pride in a team they have to pay to see is the reward? Wazzit?
