Mediacom sent over some young anarchist one day following a hundred complaints on my part.

He installed some programs including Microsoft Essentials?.

I clean up once a month or so.

This time nothing worked and the Recover function destroyed whatever virus had attacked me on the 26th.

The irony is that I now have a Google function I did not have before. haahhahah

It is not even locked into my headings.

I do understand however that most of my streaming problems come per Mediacom; but everything appears to be working now.

I shall make a note of Paragon and JV however; just in case.

Oh and I have learned long ago that the powers that be do not give one goddamn about me. haaha

Richard, you should tell Microsoft that their Restore function actually solved a problem. You may be asked for a more complete testimonial.

No Microsoft program I ever had fixed anything in Windows, and no Microsoft 'Help' instruction ever answered any of my questions.

I back up/image my 10 year old computer's hard drive with the free Paragon program, use JV Tools to clean the registry, and never ever install a free program unless it's from my stash of free programs from the good ole pre-adware/junkware days. When no one aimed to screw up your computer to track you, hijack your browser, or send you ads.

There are no easy answers to anything; especially if you have had the chance to read the entire file.

We (what is exactly 'we'?) can only respond to the info we have access to!

How the hell do you not end a sentence with a preposition under these circumstances? hahahahha

But what if? we could go back in time with some WP clone or some such; I mean what if we could really go back in time with some real info?

I just viewed a March taping of Cosby on the Letterman show and he is 13 years older than I, but I feel a part of his generation.

Bill feels that wisdom is somehow locked up in the older folks but that the youngsters eschew the older folks--probably for good reason. hahahhaha

Why I laugh as I write these lines is beyond me, really.

You know Moat, I have been contemplating making real cookies all day for some GD reason. I mean I have sugar and oats and flour and baking soda and all the requisite ingredients for sure.

Anyway, it could be that the RIGHT has sabotaged my PC. But then again I had no idea how to spell sabotage or a number of other words in this comment or this blog for that matter.

They are crossing over to a tablet format where you can swipe with your fingers. Some of the lap tops have touch screens now. They left out the old internet express shell on the first version and people had to down load it from the internet. I have 8.1 where they put it back in. They realized people were not happy. I don't know what they had in place of it. Maybe the same thing I have on my phone to surf with. Anyways it has a long learning curve to it.

Now look for Restore and whatever....

I forget every damn time.

But I have a WP clone because it came with the PC.

I do know this:

For the first year I had this computer I could call the manufacturer.

So I assume that during the first year you could call Microsoft 8?

What do I know?

I just know that I can go back in time and fix my PC!

I need to do a restore on this new window 8 computer. I have this pop up adware that latched itself to my computer the first week. I am getting tired of that little guys face on my top bar. I have a restore disc made. Just haven't taken the time to figure it out. I don't like windows 8. I figured it out in a couple of days but I still don't like it. I could care less about apps on my computer. I have a phone for that. Microsoft over estimated the markets willingness to except such a big change. You have to down load a word processing program from a outside source because they took word out. I think that is where I picked up my little troll. Hang on to your computer as long as you can. It takes a lot of key strokes to get on line and just as many to shut it off.
