I haven't been in here for quite some time. Interesting development on the Jet Blue pilots voting to unionize. Thanks for getting the word out.

Although there is a ton of info to chew on in the interview, the following are points to keep in mind.

From the article:

What are the three or four most crucial factors that have made the United States this way?

Very good question. I'd say two crucial factors. One central factor is the role of money in our political system, and the overwhelming role that affluent individuals and organized interests play, in campaign finance and in lobbying.

And the second thing is the lack of mass organizations that represent and facilitate the voice of ordinary citizens. Part of that would be the decline of unions in the country which has been quite dramatic over the last 30 or 40 years. And part of it is the lack of a socialist or a worker's party.

I'm 67 years old and my feet are firmly planted on the hard left and have in the past and currently involve myself in mass organizations. I have watched this decline my entire adult life. By the way... Who are you texting today?

Good Luck youngins... It's your circus and the "affluent individuals and organized interests" clowns are controlling the center ring in your show.

Unions have had a difficult time of it for the last thirty some years. I personally feel they will make a come back. I have watched the local service unions work their butts off in these last few elections here locally. That make a big impression on the local poor community. They donate their time for other community projects. It creates a lot of respect for unions.

Thanks for posting this. It hasn't made local news here.
