It does not seem to do any good.

Our President is beginning to step up and release prisoners but at a very minimal rate. Although some states are getting sick and tired of paying for our prison state. And so states release prisoners due to Federal Court decisions and their own budget commissions.

That's enough for now.

Wed, 21 May 2014 21:02:27 +0000 Richard Day comment 195705 at http://dagblog.com If you are not caught it did http://dagblog.com/comment/195704#comment-195704
In reply to I think this needs to be

If you are not caught it did not happen.

We all know that; which is why in Minnesota many businesses simply destroy all their files that are more than six years old (+1)

That rule applies to doctors and lawyers and accountants and corporations.

But the goddamn bankers were CAUGHT for chrissakes.

And they did not just walk away, but they pocketed billions of taxpayer dollars.

I guess, I just get mad and thank the Good Lord for Taibbi!

ha

Wed, 21 May 2014 20:55:05 +0000 Richard Day comment 195704 at http://dagblog.com These drug laws are a real http://dagblog.com/comment/195694#comment-195694
In reply to EQUAL PROTECTION UNDER THE LAW

These drug laws are a real farce with their sentencing.

I have my bi-monthly quilt diary queued for Sunday at 8 PM your time at Kos. But even if he was, that does not justify his knowingly breaking the law. Does this really have to be explained to conservatives, of all people? We can’t call for law and order, but carve out special exemptions for our political allies. This is what some on the establishment Right did for Cheney aide Scooter Libby when he was convicted for perjury. Joseph Bottum, for one, denounced conservatives who would not stand up for Libby as cowards.

The part that is really important here:

We can’t call for law and order, but carve out special exemptions for our political allies.

My personal beef: Speed limits. Don't call yourself a law and order person if you give a finger to the speed limit posted and drive 70 mph in a 60 mph zone. The law states the limit is 60. So do you be tailgaiting me when I drive 60 mph.

That is all.

Wed, 21 May 2014 13:55:44 +0000 Elusive Trope comment 195658 at http://dagblog.com Oh I had to add this.
