I've recently had to switch to a more expensive insurance policy because my old policy didn't qualify. I try to console myself that I'm helping to pay for the insurance of those who might need help, but I feel unsatisfied that my "donation" (i.e., the extra money I am sending to the insurance company that is beyond what I would be paying for a catastrophic policy) is going to a corporate "person" rather than to a government (or charity). This is just another example of what is wrong with the current implementation.
