Why'd you have to go and make it impossible for me to delete this thread and the troll comment along with it? Your helpful hints are too good to lose. Not perfect though. For example, #6 left out string. I think I may try #10, maybe start with a Reddit post.

I would not presume to add to your thoughtful and exhaustive list, but I would not want "Ms. (Mr?) Roofing" to move on without a few style points for the apologetically cast "my first comment was maybe too long..." Truly, a nice touch.

I thought Michael too tough on the previous poster, so as some helpful blogging tips (don't be afraid to add your own):

Write in Sanskrit or other unused script
Reverse word orders with random inserts so people think you're William Burroughs
Propose a simple cure for a millenia-old problem, and then insult people who disagree
Take an anonymous character and give it Bob the Builder superhuman qualities - without copying Super Mario Brothers
Become an expert on women's or LGBT issues
Discover a new subatomic particle (or wave - let's not bicker over details of who shot what) or claim you overcame some basic law of physics
Write about politics
FIgure out novel ways to combine blogging with extreme sports
Compile all the cookbooks in the known world as a blog topic and retire
Tell your friends that you're starting a blog and have them write it for you (hat tip to Mark Twain/Tom Sawyer)

Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any suggestions for rookie blog writers? I'd genuinely appreciate it.
