In the 1920's Tolkien spent time in Iceland as a teacher. It was the bases for his Hobbet series. He even studied the Old Norse language. "Brennisteinn" is an Old Norse word for sulfur and later it became brimstone in the English language.

The blue around the flames is water, green and purple are the sulfur and other small amounts of gases. This eruption is really pumping out the sulfur. Look for a really cold winter in the North,

This is an update to the Iceland volcano eruption. The fissure eruption is 2 miles long just outside of the glacier. There is all indications that a subglacial eruption is going on under the ice. So this is only the beginning because of the large amount of magma moving. The video has all the noises and tinkles of the lava moving. The pictures are breath taking.
