In this case I think he was probably correct in the following quote.
“I think Ron Paul told the truth,” Kristol told The Daily Beast. “And the truth is that his son had a bad election season and the Republicans who were elected are various species of hawks and not Rand Paul-like doves.”
While there may be some exceptions, I believe that Kristol was absolutely correct that the Republicans newly elected are, by and large, various species of Hawk. Without much direct evidence yet, I would give odds that there will be few or zero new Rs that will be vociferous doves and if any are they are extremely unlikely to have any significant impact on policy. Any newly elected dove would be the renegade in his party.
I don't think the article was about the newly elected making the Republican party more hawkish but rather about the fact that the takeover accomplished by the election will give the already hawkish party much more power to implement their fun and [war] games in some places and to better block constructive actions towards peace in other instances such as the current administration's attempt to come to an agreement on nuclear development by Iran. They already had a lot of help from various Democrat hawks and I would expect more Dems to follow along with the new leader's hawkish instincts either thru cowardly political calculation or in the case of some others because of honest belief about how to deal with perceived threats which I personally believe, as relates to most current situations, could only be explained by ignorance and/or stupidity.

Thu, 06 Nov 2014 21:33:08 +0000 A Guy Called LULU comment 200630 at http://dagblog.com McCain "is leaning towards http://dagblog.com/comment/200622#comment-200622
In reply to Republican Hawks Already Have a War Plan for ISIS, Ukraine, and Obama

McCain "is leaning towards another Presidential run in 2016".

35 Years in office and he still hasn't sealed the border, shipped enough arms somewhere or anywhere to "solve" international issues, and we need one more surge to win the war.

Thu, 06 Nov 2014 20:41:40 +0000 NCD comment 200622 at http://dagblog.com I am skeptical about whether http://dagblog.com/comment/200598#comment-200598
In reply to Republican Hawks Already Have a War Plan for ISIS, Ukraine, and Obama

I am skeptical about whether Bill Kristol is right here, as he has vested interest in tooting the neo-conservative horn, not to mention that he has shown himself in the past as not having too many political smarts:

As Ron Paul, the isolationist father of Sen.
