Just be careful when out. I hope you have laid in food supplies for those extra wicked days that you should stay in. The forecast models for the month shows the polar vortex staying in a normal pattern so that is good. The models are usually only good for 2 weeks out.

Sat, 03 Jan 2015 06:07:55 +0000 trkingmomoe comment 202644 at http://dagblog.com Hi Momoe and Merry Xmas & a http://dagblog.com/comment/202628#comment-202628
In reply to It is nice to hear that some

Hi Momoe and Merry Xmas & a Happy Happy New Year!

You cannot feel slighted when YOU are the children's only hope.

They know this.

They will not be selfish.

They will feel like they are part of the team.

You teach them so much about life and cooking and sewing.

The children will defend you to the end.

HAPPY NEW YEAR MOMOE.

You forgot more than most of us will ever know!

Fri, 02 Jan 2015 22:01:41 +0000 Richard Day comment 202628 at http://dagblog.com Okay, let's try again. http://dagblog.com/comment/202625#comment-202625
In reply to Hi Q!

Okay, let's try again.

Except for those two blaggards in Reno, I am guiltless....well sort of. hahahah

Fri, 02 Jan 2015 21:40:56 +0000 Richard Day comment 202625 at http://dagblog.com Hi Q! http://dagblog.com/comment/202623#comment-202623
In reply to MERRY CHRISTMAS DICK!

Hi Q!

Good to see you again.

We are in the midst of terrible cold up here in the great White North.

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Stay warm.

I have tech probs but I will attempt to complete my message in another comment.

Fri, 02 Jan 2015 21:38:00 +0000 Richard Day comment 202623 at http://dagblog.com MERRY CHRISTMAS DICK! http://dagblog.com/comment/202559#comment-202559
In reply to AFTER CHRISTMAS; THE AFTERMATH

MERRY CHRISTMAS DICK!

[F*ck New Years though.]

Yeah, I know what you mean. All my Christmases growing up as if they took place in Hiroshima, in the hour before the bomb, where you'd just wait for the [inevitable] explosion and hope you weren't standing too close. We tried, but really didn't know how to do it too well.

And now I'm learning Christmas, from my beloved M, how to do trees and meals and presents and PEOPLE and it's all pretty great.

And I hardly ever lose my temper. Or kill people.

And even if I do, I have NEVER once yet waved their still-dripping skulls at the widow.

So. Human progress, even for us old farts.

Merry Christmas, Big Man.

P.S. And try to swear a bit more this year. I need the company.

Thu, 01 Jan 2015 20:18:45 +0000 Q comment 202559 at http://dagblog.com It is nice to hear that some http://dagblog.com/comment/202437#comment-202437
In reply to AFTER CHRISTMAS; THE AFTERMATH

It is nice to hear that some families can still do up Christmas big.

Stores here locally had lots of stuff left over that didn't sell this year. I am watching now for the sales.

The kids each got a tablet/e-reader for Christmas and they thought they fell into a vat of gold.

I must of sorted 10 thousand little colored rubber bands for my grand daughter for her rainbow loom. In fact I did buy 9600 rubber bands at 70% off the day after Christmas. Only her loom is a cheap knock off from Walmart that was half priced. The rubber bands were sorted into two plastic containers that had little compartments to hold craft supplies which I emptied out my junk so she could use them. The rainbow loom has a similar container for the bans. I also went through my button box and found novelty buttons that had shanks. I sat and pulled rubber bands through the shanks with a thin crochet hook so she would be able to use them to decorate her bracelets as she made them. If the shank's hole was still too small for a thin crochet hook I took a twisty tie and soaked the paper off of it and used the thin wire as a threader and pulled the rubber ban through. I even amazed myself with that little trick because it worked. She was real happy because I added a finger loom and mini loom that was bought after Christmas. She told me non of her friends had a set as big as hers. The rubber band crafts are real popular with little girls right now.

I gave the boys Mindcraft quilts.

I was worried that they would feel slighted with only 2 gifts but they were pretty happy.

Tue, 30 Dec 2014 03:16:07 +0000 trkingmomoe comment 202437 at http://dagblog.com
