Don't expect much.

The raw truth is this: The reserve, or trust fund, from which the disability program receives about 20% of its funding is expected to run dry in 2016. If nothing is done, disability payments, which currently average about $1,068 a month to 11 million disabled persons and their family members, will have to be cut by that same percentage. Colvin called that "a death sentence" for those beneficiaries.

This just backs up what I pointed out. This are people who are not well. The Republican Party is now a Fascist Party. They see these people as being unworthy and useless, so they must be discarded like garbage.

They are also lying.

"Don’t trust a federal trust fund," he said. "There are not dollars stashed away anywhere. There are no dollars in the disability trust fund and there are no dollars in the Social Security trust fund.... We spent the money."

As we've written before, this assertion is nothing but an attempt to cheat working Americans of the benefits they've paid for. The trust funds hold trillions of dollars of U.S. Treasury bonds bought and paid for by payroll taxes collected from American workers since 1983; these transfers have been certified, in writing, every year by U.S. treasury secretaries and other cabinet members, Republican and Democrat, and accepted by Congress. If the money's gone, they should all go to jail--but you won't hear that said by Enzi or his cronies.

Yes lets put them in jail and drug test them first.

Sat, 14 Feb 2015 16:34:05 +0000 trkingmomoe comment 204038 at http://dagblog.com Republicans don't understand http://dagblog.com/comment/204036#comment-204036
In reply to Republican Efforts To Cut Social Security Benefits Pit Disabled Americans Against Senior Citizens

Republicans don't understand Social Seurity Disability and don't care that they don't understand Social Security Disabilty.

http://www.latimes.com/business/hiltzik/la-fi-mh-gop-shows-it-doesnt-und...

Sat, 14 Feb 2015 13:59:32 +0000 rmrd0000 comment 204036 at http://dagblog.com I am angry. I have watched http://dagblog.com/comment/204035#comment-204035
In reply to Republican Efforts To Cut Social Security Benefits Pit Disabled Americans Against Senior Citizens

I am angry. I have watched people lose their Meals on Wheels and then struggle to get their bi-monthly food basket. I wish all of you could have seen them yesterday manage to do this like I witnessed. Most of them only get about a $1000 a month if they are lucky. I even saw a person in a full halo frame. I could just see those a$$ hats in the think tanks making these plans and writing all the memos because they know this part of our society is too weak to organize and kick up a fuss. Then turn around a demand that the seniors take a cut to help out these poor souls.

The 1% don't need any more tax breaks. Remove the ceiling on the FICA tax. These people need better care. You would think we are living in a 3rd world country. Actually I do. I live in the Koch Colony of Florida.

Sat, 14 Feb 2015 13:45:16 +0000 trkingmomoe comment 204035 at http://dagblog.com
