The picture brings back memories of a grey abby flannel wool suit I had about the same time period 1961-62. In 1963 mohair bloucie was introduced which was a loopy fuzzy knit backed fabric. Jackie Kennedy's famous pink and black collared suit was fuzzy mohair. Lavender was the fashionable color for spring around 1964. I remember buying a lavender spring coat that I loved in high school.

I like the visual of the headlights and the movement. Seems like a segue to the setup of the living room. And for some reason I likened it to all the cigarettes that passed through your Dad's hands. (My Dad, same thing).

Thanks... I was re-reading the monologue just now and think I need to add a line about how at night, the headlights from cars negotiating the "S" curve with their hi-beams on, would shine through the windows of the living room and the shadows would run across the walls as they drove past our house. Funny, the little things one remembers.
