They will be losing on the average of $8 to $12 per $100 of benefits. Republicans that are running these states right now see the poor as cash cows. They are also stealing from the state treasuries too under the disguise of privatizing.

You're right on all counts. All state issued debit cards (temporary assistance, disability, unemployment) are subject to ATM fees. When they stopped sending checks and brought banks into the mix it was a financial win for everyone but the payee. A Democrat in Kansas tried to point out that many people on assistance pay their bills with cash since they don't have bank accounts. $25.00 a day will make that nearly impossible. No one cared.

To limit only $25 a day withdrawal smells fishy. Some states in the south use a card service that charges a fee for each withdrawal. You only get at best a couple of hundred dollars of cash from these states a month. That is used for rent and utilities. Somebody is wanting a bigger cut of that money for their card company or ATM machines. In urban ghetto's the only access some people have to ATM machines or cash are in places like pon shops, bars, nail salons and the rest of that list. Or they buy a small item like candy and then get cash back then the company is out some of the fee they could collect. Take a second look at that list and you realize they are talking about a mom and pop travel agencies that might be running those cards for poor neighbors to get cash they need.

I wish I could say it influenced my life, but I didn't find out until a couple of years ago while doing genealogy research on my family tree. Now, it just makes me laugh. Who knew indeed.
