Fox News supplied great humor during the uprising. A protester got in Geraldo Rivera's face because everyone knew Fox only came to exacerbate the situation. Fox and Geraldo were only interested in getting people to call black protesters thugs and to point out that Reverend Al Sharpton was coming to town. They did not want to address the actions that local politicians, clergy, and young activists played in calming the situation. Even the Crips and Bloods kept the situation under control.

Geraldo misidentified one guy as Russell Simmons

WaPo has a surprisingly good take on the how the MSM would report the Baltimore uprising if it were happening elsewhere.

I was depressed until .Hal revived the long dormant Pollyannaism we need to face these crisis It's a relief to learn that underneath all that armor, steroid pumped muscle and military tactical gear the Occupying Forces are really just loveable tolerant Officer Friendlys. Just ask the 50 some people they arrested last night and the activists who are being tracked and harassed at gunpoint.

There is nothing modest about the solutions you propose in fact they remind me of those pleas for World Peace made by not so modest beauty queens.

This is not a dumb statement.

I am amazed.

And other Cities are about to explode.

And yet they have not.

On the other hand, these new indictments against members of the police force in Baltimore, really have had an effect.

This is a big deal.

Fire bombings and lootings and all sorts of mayhem.

Even tonight, things are not so serene.

But damn, things are looking better.

I know I keep playing this same insane song.

But damn.

Things are looking better.

We do not have thousands dead.

We do not have thousands of indictments.

Things could be better, of course, but hell...

Things could be much worse.
