I knew the Red River was flooding. This had all the makings of a atmospheric river event. A monsoon on steroids. I was following your weather because my grand daughter had driven across Texas to get to Colorado. She is starting at Co.U in Fort Collins this summer to study physics. She got through Texas before the sky fell and to Ft. Collins after the tornado warnings had been lifted. She told me that she hates driving through Texas. She posted on face book "Thank you baby Jesus I am here!" She is not religious. She kept us informed as she traveled.

It is all part of global warming. Who knows what we are all going to have to cope with. El Nino is gearing up to be a pain in the butt out west.

Hey, trking, just saw your comment. I've been pretty lucky. My pasture flooded and came within an inch of flooding my barn floor. Tornados hitting all around. People who have lived in North Texas their whole lives have never seen anything like this before. A farmer friend just bought a 100 K hay bailer and may not get any cuts this year, so the incessant rain is impacting folks economically. It's very akin to "mud season" in Vermont and the N.E., oddly enough.
