Russia jumped from feudalism to communism while the rest of Europe was going through fascism. If the Koch bros have their way we will be a fascist state too. It is a system that will fail only the Russians really don't know that yet.

The irony is that Putin's Russia is essentially a fascist state:

Ultra-nationalist/racist propaganda
Macho cult of personality
Territorial ambitions
Alleges conspiracies against the state
Obsessed with reversing national decline
Claims to purge moral decadence
Scapegoats, attacks minorities
Co-opts corporations to serve the state
Co-opts religion to serve the state
Suppresses dissidents
Controls the media
And, fittingly, rewrites history to glorify the "Fatherland."

It's basically the Hitler/Mussolini/Franco playbook.
