Yes he is a Koch ideologue of the John Birch Society. He chooses to believe what he wants to believe so he can be part of the pure capitalist revolution. I had a Catholic education that included evolution. Mary Leakey had discovered the oldest humanoid at that time in Africa, 1959 and I was in 7th grade. I was taught that Genesis was written so the people at the time would understand that God created life over a time spanned and their understanding of time was narrow. But now we had a better understanding that it happened over millions of years.

Scalia had the same education in the church so why would he pander to the evangelicals? Because the corporations decided in the 1940's to make them selves seem good and Christian like. That they were part of God's plan and social programs was ungodly communism. It was all PR thought up by a PR firm bank rolled by Republicans to try to get back in power. This was part of Robert Welch's anti-communism and small government radical ideas later.

He is just a jerk with a law degree.
