I feel obliged to point out that this wasn't the first time we invaded a country that had done nothing to us. Even if we grant that Panama did something to us(killing one American) Grenada hadn't done anything to us, and Iraq only just barely did anything to us before Desert Storm(they kept Americans from leaving the country, which wasn't the reason for the war). Roosevelt, Taft, Wilson, and Coolidge invaded countries that hadn't harmed us(Honduras, Nicaragua, Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic). We should perhaps throw in the conquest of the Philippines, although the Filipinos did fire the first shots.
