Actually, the story took wings and is all over the place. I think that's why the Michigan House Repubs are getting around to thinking about taking action. If it had stayed in Michigan, they would have been fine with it.

The people from his district aren't happy with him, either. (Many of them voted for him, but probably aren't going to admit it now.)

A writer named Rose Bogardus--a Democrat--wrote a great piece called, "What's a Nice Place Like Lapeer Doing With A Rep Like Todd Courser?" I had to laugh at her description of anti-government voters:

Americans love to hate their politicians. So people run for office but claim not to be politicians, particularly conservative candidates. Can you imagine your doctor telling you, as he’s about to remove your appendix, that he’s not really a doctor? Or letting your neighbor take a set of clippers and have a go at your hair?

What is more ludicrous than choosing people to run our government who don’t understand government? To get elected you have to get involved in the political process. By definition [you] are a politician, and you have a responsibility to actually represent people in your district.

You said it, Flower. It's crazytown around here, so we Three Michkateers have our work cut out for us. Looks like Melissa Gilbert has left the Little House on the Prairie and wants to help us. I don't know anything about her politics but it's encouraging that she's running as a Democrat in a state where Democrats don't have a whole lot going for ~~them~~ us.

Michigan politics these days are getting crazier with each passing day, but they'll have to go some to top this. I would love to think this might be a wake-up call for those guys, but I doubt it. They don't seem to want to wake up.

Lol, Doc. I started this post a few days ago and every time I looked, something else was happening. It just got better and better. Or worse and worse, depending on the POV. I finally just had to go with it. My first draft was three times as long. It was harder to cut what I had than to write the damn thing.

And it's still going on. The House Repubs are NOT happy.

It just shows how bankrupt the GOP is even al the local level. It is amazing how stupid he is. Mostly all that is left, that is active in the party is loons.
