Trump was just quoted as stating that some of his best friends are Muslims; as he goes on to say that we must keep track of all Muslims and maybe even close down Mosques.

A major theme of the Right is that Obama does not use the term radical Islam. Obama feels that calling murderers Islamic gives them the legitimacy of being religious. Obama views them as terrorists. Whatever we call them, we have not hesitated to bomb and drone them. The Right has the magical belief that if we use the term "Radical Islam", the drones and bombs will kill more people. The Right thinks the terrorists are like Rumplestiltskin, disappearing when they are called their "proper" name.

On college campuses, minorities are tired of being called names as they walk across campus. Students also point out the history of some of those honored on campus. The questioning of racist Woodrow Wilson's prominence at Princeton and the honoring of Confederate heroes on other campuses are part of the current discussion.

Those on the Right squeal when you present them with actual facts. Trump does not back down from his statement that Muslims in New Jersey cheered from rooftops as the towers fell. The big danger to society is not PC behavior, but the acceptance of outright lies by a significant portion of the public. Truth no longer matters.

In its original sense, the term "political correctness" has some value, but it has become a swear word for anything remotely left-liberal or humanist.
