I have been thinking about this subject.

We speak here.

Pa;,palmolive nor campbells nor exxon nor.....whatever

Tells us so far what to write,

This right doesn't give us free speech and we are all afraid od the 'other' side.

We are stuck within our ow beliefs.

All we can do is fight fire with fire.

Words with words.

Let us hope that the world of words demonstrates that we have been victorious!

Richard, you are not alone in your observations of the media. Trumps candidacy gets eyeballs to the television screen. News anchors were not going to call out Trump's lies to his face when he came on their shows. Trump would threaten to walk away decreasing the eyeballs on a given travel. Truth does not matter.

Part of the reason truth doesn't matter is because of the money someone like Trump brings into the channel. The other reason truth does not matter is that news anchors don't have a grasp of the facts. If Trump shows a bogus graph or states a lie as truth. News anchors don't have the facts in their grasp. Therefore people ove to trusted sites on the Internet.

Many people realize what you realize about the media.

There was a book written in the 1940's called The Hucksters. It was an "expose" of the advertising world. It's more than a bit dated now, but it just shows that the hypocrisy and phoniness of Madison Avenue has been around for a very long time.

Media coverage has become a game for the consultants who cajole and wheedle and wine and dine the producers who are in need to talking heads to fill screen time. None of it means anything. It is all illusion ... the illusion of "gravitas". the illusion of substance. The people who talk to the people we want to know more about are interviewed by the people who work for the people who talk to the people that we want to know more about ... right after this message from our sponsor and while a lower part of the screen advertises the upcoming interview in the next segment which is an exclusive interview with the person who opposes the person that is now being interviewed and that will be coming up right after this interview ... and the following message.

We are being manipulated and massaged and mesmerized by meaningless drivel which has taken the place of issues of substance. Why? Because that is what the media does best and why not do what you do best? No one wants to watch what the media does badly, right? So we sit and suck our thumbs at the vapid stupidity of our news programs and we become mentally sedentary. Meanwhile, inside our heads, our minds are screaming and throwing imaginary brickbats at the TV screen.
