Let me be the ray of sunshine here. We want Democrats to have robust debate. Obama and Clinton had a knock down drag out battle in 2008. We had Obamabots and PUMAs. Obama won. We wondered why Obama wasn't putting up a more vigorous attack on Romney. We said that Obama was giving away the election. Obama won. We now have the Progressive purity battle between Hillary and Berniew. We fear that Democrats will lose. Our opponents are racists, xenophobes, homophobes, and misogynists. Trump, Cruz and Rubio are all wingnuts who will wilt under scrutiny. I'm pumped. I prefer Hillary because she is battle tested. If Bernie wins, the electoral map is likely to prefer the Socialist to the wingnuts. I'm pumped.

Fri, 05 Feb 2016 01:56:02 +0000 rmrd0000 comment 218337 at http://dagblog.com Exactly. It's harder for us to explain the underlying causes of the anxiety many Americans feel than it is for our political opposition to scapegoat people on the underside of society. This has always been our burden. It's a sad state of affairs when information is readily available, but not used. The left is always accused of making arguments and holding positions based on emotions, yet the right is driven by fear. Thanks for reading have a great day!

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 23:33:45 +0000 Danny Cardwell comment 218332 at http://dagblog.com Great piece, Danny. I've http://dagblog.com/comment/218312#comment-218312
In reply to This Election Is About More Than Fear

Great piece, Danny. I've also wondered why there weren't more Dem candidates early on in the race. But then again, wouldn't you have to be slightly crazy to run for president? Lol. All I've heard lately is about which of the candidates is more progressive. We're a big country and a big party. We've never been known to follow in a single line. We've been our own worst enemies more often than not, but I don't think I've seen is as bad as it is this time.

I'm afraid we're going to lose and it'll be nobody's fault but our own.

Thu, 04 Feb 2016 21:22:09 +0000 Ramona comment 218312 at http://dagblog.com
