In Hamilton's contributions to The Federalist articles, he is the author who most directly addressed the concerns of the "confederalists" who objected to the centralized powers made possible through the Constitution being proposed at the time. In addition to the checks and balances set upon the extent of Executive power, there is the often repeated idea that power may be something that an individual may seek for its own sake but the desire to be recognized as an honorable person will create limits to all who are not given such a status by means of inheritance.

Trump is shameless in a way that Hamilton did not cover in his list of how the republic could be usurped. That situation calls for something special. A huge amount of respect.
