The perfect personal images you describe were previously reserved for celebrities. Bill Cosby was Heathcliff Huxtable, not a sexual predator. Until reality crashed in Cosby could opine on how black males should behave. Donald Trump could be the businessman who fired lesser beings every week on a television show. Now we realize that the spotlight was on a racist and bully. Social media allows the private citizen to hide the same blemishes that celebrities and the elite hid for years.
