Hal , this article is so cute. The author notes Hilary supported Goldwater, but leaves out her work with Marian Wright Edelman and the Children's Defense Fund. It omits hear undercover work in Alabama. The author also praises President Obama but omits the fact that Bernie Sanders wanted a Primary challenge to Obama.

Bernie did participate in the Civil Rights movement. Thousand of other whites had a more sustained effort fighting for Civil Rights. Some whites like James Reab, Viola Liuzzo, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Henry Schwerner gave their lives to the effort. As noted above, Hillary Clinton participated in the Civil Rights movement.

John Lewis never saw Sanders. Sanders only reached out to blacks when he needed votes. I suspect that like some Progressives, his focus will be only on economics.

Do you agree that Hillary faced more risk than Sanders given her method of involvement in the movement?
