She finished 109 delegates down, and that wasnt from a comeback. If superdelegates hadnt flown the coop, she could have had it. It was real close, much closer than this year's. This year it's over - yeah, if she spends money she "wins", if she spends nothing, she's close enough second in some, first in some. By June 7 or whatever she'll have enough, 0 question. 2008 was premature, this one that fat lady sang.

Sun, 22 May 2016 18:48:50 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 223443 at http://dagblog.com Josh was saying over at TPM http://dagblog.com/comment/223435#comment-223435
In reply to From Bloomberg - Something that is reassuring, I guess

Josh was saying over at TPM that Clinton did much the same thing in 2008 -- fighting in public and through her supporters while quietly assuring other Democrats that she fully planned to fall into line behind Obama. I don't really understand the tactics here but maybe part of the issue is that you can't just rile upa movement and then turn it off. You have real supporters out there who have worked for you, parted with time and money, invested emotionally and who expect you to wait until the very end and to take it to the convention. If part of the value of your endorsement of the winner is delivering those supporters, well... you can't just quit on those supporters and then reignite them later for somebody else. Maybe. I'm just guessing at what's going on.

Sun, 22 May 2016 15:14:04 +0000 Michael Maiello comment 223435 at http://dagblog.com Sanders has repeatedly said http://dagblog.com/comment/223404#comment-223404
In reply to From Bloomberg - Something that is reassuring, I guess

Sanders has repeatedly said that his goal is to keep Broke Donald out of the White House in interviews with reporters like Rachel Maddow.
