Oh, I'm making the transition, barefooted. There's no direction left but forward. I'm just ... tired.

In the three months since Mom passed away I've bought a new house, started a new project at work that involved me writing a grant (and that will keep me busy for a long time), and basically been frenetically busy. I'm moving forward. But right now, having used busy-ness to get through the first stage of things (on the theory that if I let myself collapse I didn't know how or when I'd get back up), I've gotten to the bone-tired stage, where I just want to sleep on my face for a bit. Or maybe, you know, watch some baseball.

Thanks for this, Doc. At 68 I have been looking at mortality lately. I finally wrote my first will (overdue, but now done). So I am in my third act, and I agree that one can continue to change and grow. I appreciate you sharing your journey with us.

Sometimes our lives need nothing more than transition, yet we accept it almost in spite of ourselves. More often than not we resist the very growth we so admire in nature around us ... and the lessons therein. Keep leaping, Doc.
