Check this out.</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Yes, OGD, I think Virginia will be Blue for the Presidential election, but it is in many ways a very red state.  The legislature successfully stymied our governor, Terry McAuliffe' multiple and valiant efforts at Medicaid expansion.  They challenged his effort to allow felons who have served their sentences the right to vote, and a judge ruled that he could only do it one at a time.  He now will personally sign over 2000 documents allowing those people to vote.  </p> <p>Jerry Falwell's Liberty University, and the Christian Regent University Law School stamp out graduates with the goal of taking over local govt, and in the case of Regents, was the "go-to" place for judicial appointments from the Bush Administration.  </p> <p>So, when I said, "I wish" re the state being Blue, I was referring to the stranglehold they have on local politics.  The main reason we have a Dem governor (I believe) is that the weasel Ken Cuccinelli was so odious that he got no votes except for dyed in the wool TeaBaggers. I know his cousin, and no one in his family can even stand him.
