Now she's doing too well and not sharing he wealth or message. She's just always doing the wrong thing 24x7, especially at 3am I suppose.

I suspect she will throw enough campaign effort to downticket candidates (as she always has), and probably is making it much easier for them to raise money outside of Hillary Victory money. (another article notes that the sharing relationship between pres nominee and states is much as it's always been, but now with Hillary involved it's another point of evil)

There's an expression "you catch more flies with honey", and for her race especially she's attracting disillusioned Republicans. Would the party do better attacking downticket Republicans as fucktards and Trump Lites? I don't know, but I don't think it's an easy call. Democrats will vote Democrat anyway. Republicans have won legislatures and Congress based on gerrymandering, so it's fellow travellers supporting Trump until a few months ago or as bad, Ted Cruz. The lower stage candidates *are* largely crazy, but telling them it's chickens coming home to roosst, that their party affiliation is the cause of Trump on down, can harden their allegiance.

Right now Hillary os inviting them to a new Big Tent, redrawing the political lines - grownup on security and budget, supportive but responsible on business, caring on social issues and women's role, moderate but sane on sticky gun and abortion issues. That Tent is rather attractive to those who might feel the GOP left them. Badgering them or ignoring them for the presumed tide of missing Democrats in gerrymandered districts is likely to work as poorly as the last 7 or 8 congressional and state elections.

Hoping as well that Soros and other donor money is going in part to statewide campaigning.

(Sorry for offtopic comment. Trump supporters "protecting" the polling places like they stalked abortion clinics or "vetted" prior voting lines is rather scary, and will be difficult to see how open carry is enforced in this environment)

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 08:53:26 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 227450 at http://dagblog.com Fracturing the GOP weakens it http://dagblog.com/comment/227444#comment-227444
In reply to You might have seen this

Fracturing the GOP weakens it, and may make some of them less obstructionist.

Of course drowning the Republicans in a bathtub would be better, but unlikely anytime soon.

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 04:26:46 +0000 NCD comment 227444 at http://dagblog.com Yes, with marshals and police http://dagblog.com/comment/227443#comment-227443
In reply to Trump wants monitoring of the

Yes, with marshals and police -- sending a message, no doubt. Photographing incoming voters, I would expect.

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 04:01:04 +0000 Janicket comment 227443 at http://dagblog.com Trump wants monitoring of the http://dagblog.com/comment/227433#comment-227433
In reply to Today in Altoona he flat-out

Trump wants monitoring of the election in "certain neighborhoods" so that the unwashed don't vote "five times".

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 02:04:38 +0000 rmrd0000 comment 227433 at http://dagblog.com You might have seen this http://dagblog.com/comment/227431#comment-227431
In reply to I think we're headed for a

You might have seen this where I linked to it on another thread but I'll repeat it here because it is an insightful observation that is new to me and I think probably others as well. The point is that Hillary, by aiming all her shots at what Trump is, rather than at what the Republican Party has become based on who they selected by popular vote, helps sentient Republicans justify their support of the Republican Party and down ticket Republican candidates even as they realize that they cannot stomach the Donald and what he represents. Raising money for Democratic candidates is not the only way to support them. [Even if it actually happened to a significant extent] Hillary has a strong enough lead to change her strategy from all out attack on Trump, he handles that quite well himself, to an all out attack on the Republican Party. That idea has been recognized within the Democratic campaign so what happens in that regard going forward will be indicative of a studied, conscious decision. I would like to see the Republican Party damaged to the max so as to give room and impetus for improvement of the Democratic Party.

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 01:58:44 +0000 A Guy Called LULU comment 227431 at http://dagblog.com Today in Altoona he flat-out http://dagblog.com/comment/227427#comment-227427
In reply to Outsourcing Political Violence: Trump and Daesh

Today in Altoona he flat-out said that the only way Clinton can win Pennsylvania is by cheating. He's laying some scarily ugly groundwork, isn't he?

http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/12/politics/donald-trump-pennsylvania-cheatin...

Sat, 13 Aug 2016 00:57:46 +0000 Janicket comment 227427 at http://dagblog.com Constrained? Right now, the only real constraint on Trump is the GOP establishment, and I doubt this relationship will survive until election day. Once Paul Ryan un-endorses, there will be nothing for Trump to lose by going completely off the rails.

Fri, 12 Aug 2016 22:11:01 +0000 Michael Wolraich comment 227423 at http://dagblog.com
