In my defense, I do incorporate a rather romantic (?) pause not referenced above, viz: as an alternative to "barrier" contraception, the lucky lady and I donate blood, each providing the other's address.

A few days later, (hopefully) a postcard arrives thanking us for our donation and letting us know how welcome would be a repeat visit at an appropriate interval.

All clear.

Conversely, a phone call with an urgent request to come in for a counseling session...

Does this destroy my reputation for spontaneity? Oh well.

Parenthetically, I am not sure that zika virus screening is as yet a routine post donation protocol.

I worked in a University Student Health Service in the early 80's. I went to a "world" conference (in DC that was a live video event) about HIV about that time. Then it wasn't even known that it was caused by a virus. The assumption was that it was from homosexual sex, or otherwise from frequent sex, or just having sex with a Haitian.

Then we found out that it was caused by a virus. This was huge. Bath houses in San Francisco closed, and clinics like the Whitman-Walker Clinics met a need that was big with this group, because finally they were being mourned.

Now HIV is considered a chronic disease. But it is preventable.

You, as "an enthusiastic practitioner of unsafe sex, would rather die than change" are a part of the problem. I wonder why.

As a woman, I can confidently say that your many references to your dick, pussy, and other stuff really doesn't bother me at all. Sometimes I kind of like it, and think it is funny. What makes me wonder about you is your frequent references to your amazing self.

What really pisses me off is your saying that it's ok to have no concern about protection.

We finally get the STD that has an alternative insect vector--what we wrongly once feared was the nightmare scenario when all that was at issue was the integrity of our immune systems.....

I'm unclear if the Guilluame-Barre (sp?) complication is a new horror resulting from a mutation of the virus, or just something we are noticing because of the proliferation of cases, but with four of five infectees asymptomatic, this is gonna mean safe sex for anyone with a mosquito bite in the wrong part of town.

What a drag! (I am on record with my personal physician to the effect that I am an enthusiastic practitioner of unsafe sex, and would rather die than change).
