I watched that game and was horrified. Each time it happened I expected something, but wasn't terribly surprised that the refs, etc. basically ignored it. But the final, fourth hit with under two minutes to play was an inexcusable example of "the game must go on" by the Panthers coaching staff. I don't place the blame on the medical personnel on the sidelines or in the booth nearly as much as I do the people upon whom Newton depends the most for his career - his team coaches.

I don't think it has anything to do with race ... but you're right that had someone caused Brady to break a nail there would have been an immediate timeout and lengthy review.
