I am 68 years old, and although my retirement accounts will take a hit I doubt that even the GOP government won't take away my MEDICARE or SS. My despair is for my children and their children. And it isn't just even Trump. It is that so many people voted for him! Hillary's popular vote win is irrelevant. Half of those who voted did so for a hateful, stupid, ugly loose cannon. I never thought I could feel worse than I did when Bush was "elected."

Yes, Mona. It was so sad and strange to read the morning pundits weigh in on Trump's "stunning upset" as if the world were not collapsing before our eyes.

When my daughter woke up, I took her to the window to say good-morning to the trees and buildings and buses, as we do every morning. But this act of greeting the world was too much for me, and I burst into sobs.
