Do dig up Lars von Trier's Europa (Zentropa) - post-WWII as told by a crazy Dane, as narrated hypnotically by Max von Sydow.</p> <p>And I do like the mention of the blond - reminds me of my father's tale of days as a flyboy in Italy, him no lady's man, sitting with an Italian girl who didn't speak any English,  him no Italian. He always ended there, but where could it go? Did he manage his Cary Grant moment, or just sit there happily besotted? Will never know.</p> </div></div></div> Tue, 04 Apr 2017 04:35:00 +0000 PeraclesPlease comment 236045 at http://dagblog.com Especially appreciate the http://dagblog.com/comment/236038#comment-236038 <a id="comment-236038"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/world-affairs/keep-calm-carry-isis-edition-pt-4-22235">KEEP CALM &amp; CARRY ON, ISIS EDITION (PT 4)</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p>Especially appreciate the Sullivan link.</p> <p>Got me wondering what Christopher Hitchens would be saying if he were alive.<img alt="surprise" height="23" src="http://cdn.ckeditor.com/4.5.6/full-all/plugins/smiley/images/omg_smile.png" title="surprise" width="23" /></p> </div></div></div> Tue, 04 Apr 2017 03:24:04 +0000 artappraiser comment 236038 at http://dagblog.com Maybe there´s a point http://dagblog.com/comment/236037#comment-236037 <a id="comment-236037"></a> <p><em>In reply to <a href="http://dagblog.com/comment/236033#comment-236033">Too much to be handled by the</a></em></p> <div class="field field-name-comment-body field-type-text-long field-label-hidden"><div class="field-items"><div class="field-item even"><p><em>Maybe there´s a point somewhere.
