(oh the shame of that) but to use P.R. to deconstruct for the public what the P.R. creator is trying to effect with his P.R. So the job has always been a cat and mouse game, not about reporting actual news. And it was all about spin and was actually more insidious before the public learned what spin was with the Clinton/Bush war rooms opening to the public in 1992. And this president has been known to be a P.R. meister since way before his political days, it's one of his favorite games to play. So we just get more of what always has been. And yes, they love the jousting. And jousting feeds ratings. And I dare say almost everyone understands and gets that now.

Wish they all had taken up Rosen's weeks ago suggestion to "send the interns." But why should the interns have all the jousting fun? And how is one to pay for all the real news journalism without ratings from jousting matches?

When everyone was touting blogging back in its early days and putting down "the media", it would always hit me: BUT BUT BUT blogging is mainly one person's spin on things! And in short order, bloggers began to pursue "clicks", and finding out that the more opinionated the spin, the more clicks. How do we get away from this, Prof. Rosen, without the noted mind numbingness for most people in BBC News and NPR world?

Tue, 25 Apr 2017 20:27:44 +0000 artappraiser comment 237034 at http://dagblog.com
