I see this as a sort of trial permission slip for other party members to break ranks. Given that the WaPo reporter checked with Boehner's office before publishing and got a "yup, that's what he said" and WaPo has given the article a strong home page position. Just in time for the Sunday politico shows (which I imagine at this point intend to be speaking aboutTrump's overseas trip with the Kisylak thing thrown in.)
