My understanding Is that working with the loans is actually what commercial real estate developers spend most of their time doing. It's not a world like home mortgages, they get loans for their projects that last a very short while and have to be renegotiated over and over and they often just get dumped even if the project is going well, when the banks find some other shiny bauble that looks more interesting, or extorted with a huge rate hike.

But Trump and Kushner seem to.start out with the fishy way of getting funds, not to mention major conflict of interest once they decide to run for president....
