The Senate panel purposely separated themselves from the House panel because of things if not this exact problem.

Among other things, I really got a sense from that of how the current Senate as a whole just doesn't trust the current House as a whole more than ever before. Because the House is too beholden to Trump or pander to him and/or his base. They just didn't have the spine to be very public about it.

Made me think that McCain's speech upon return really may have had more meaning for his GOP colleagues than we understood. All the stuff like we are the equal of the president, let's trust each other, not just following but being proud of the rules of order, the success of the Senate is important to the continued success of America and Our founders envisioned the Senate as the more deliberative, careful body that operates at a greater distance than the other body from the public passions of the hour. We are an important check on the powers of the Executive
