The Congressional Budget Office is expected to release a report Tuesday afternoon on the impact of halting key payments to insurance companies, which President Trump has threatened to do, CBO announced Monday.

The rates remain subject to change as insurers and regulators continue to negotiate. But the Kaiser researchers have done similar analyses over the last few years and found the proposed rates to be roughly predictive of the national trend.

Two themes stick out: One is that, while insurance premiums will rise substantially in many cities, the increases are generally not bigger than they were last year. The other is that insurers are being quite explicit about citing the Trump administration’s hostile policy messages as a substantial reason for the higher prices [...]

Poll: 78 percent say Trump should try to make ObamaCare work

Eight in ten Americans say President Trump and his administration should do what they can to make ObamaCare work, according to a new poll released Friday.

That includes 95 percent of Democrats, 80 percent of independents and even a majority of Republicans at 52 percent, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation Poll.

Seventeen percent, though, think Trump should make the law fail so it can be replaced later.

Meanwhile, 57 percent of Americans say Republicans in Congress should work with Democrats to make improvements to ObamaCare.

Only 21 percent of Republicans want to continue working on a repeal-and-replace plan and 21 percent want to move on to other priorities [....]

Makes very clear that the many GOP members who were bitching about not being able to keep promises to voters to repeal Obamacare were just being either ideologically delusional or not paying attention to changes in opinion since they got elected.
