People don't want to be associated with Trump's racism as it taints their organizations. The racism Trump demonstrates in statements post Charlottesville are the reason more focus has been placed on his prejudice.

Edit to add:

When we call Trump divisive we must be specific. Trump has encouraged ethnic divisions. Hate crimes are increasing as a result. There was an unprecedented increase in hate crimes around the time of the election. Trump has coddled white supremacists. We cannot turn a blind eye to racism. It isn't all upside for him https://t.co/XAYJapiDiW
— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) September 17, 2017

but I would quibble with her on the "it's not all upside for him" as what I see is him trying to feed a brand however he can. Hence the zaniness sometimes. I.E., he feeds the Breitbart crew one day, then when the results of that threatens to turn some former possible "customers" of the brand off, he does deals with Dems or whatever....

Sun, 17 Sep 2017 23:36:29 +0000 artappraiser comment 242848 at http://dagblog.com
