critical Obamacare subsidies will almost surely be tied up in the courts for years as Democratic-led states seek injunctions, while insurers seek to recover payments they say they’re owed.

It's impossible to predict whether a judge might order the administration to continue the payments while the lawsuits are heard, but at least some legal experts express doubts.

“Forcing an administration to continue making payments when the president believes there is no appropriation, and when Congress believes there’s no appropriation, would be a pretty extreme move by the court — even if it was a temporary measure," said Nicholas Bagley, a professor at the University of Michigan Law School who has written extensively about Obamacare legal issues.

The result is that NEED TO PRESSURE THEIR CONGRESSPERSONS RIGHT NOW. Yes, I meant to yell. Though minions may not end up following all his orders, that doesn't even matter, by throwing a huge amount of uncertainty out there, Trump is truly fucking up the whole health care system, beyond even screwing up health insurance.

This is not just about low income subsidies, in the end screwing with the system so much, this is about how all the providers are going to be paid for their work! It's bomb throwing, that's what he's doing, a temper tantrum with people's health care. It is very serious, the whole health care industry is freaking out.

This lede to the current NYTimes headline article on what he's been doing says it all:

A backlash against President Trump — including from fellow Republicans — was brewing as lawmakers voiced concern over how ending the subsidies would affect their constituents.

The constituents got to speak up! They truly don't know what to do now.

My suggestion is to say you want your representatives to support the Lamar Alexander/Patty Murray Obamacare fix and to instruct the president that it is his duty to execute it or else.

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 20:52:51 +0000 artappraiser comment 243874 at http://dagblog.com It is amazing that people http://dagblog.com/comment/243865#comment-243865
In reply to Republicans applaud shucking

It is amazing that people support this crap.

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 14:09:05 +0000 rmrd0000 comment 243865 at http://dagblog.com Republicans applaud shucking http://dagblog.com/comment/243863#comment-243863
In reply to Trump Killing ACA Subsidies for Low Income Americans

Republicans applaud shucking the middle class yesterday at the signing, note Mr. Boot Straps Freedumb from the Government spending on your Health Care Rand Paul, from Kentucky....where half the population is on CHIP, Medicare, Medicare, disability or ACA, voting for him makes them feel like part of the GOP club, rich white country club denizens.

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 13:48:00 +0000 NCD comment 243863 at http://dagblog.com The subsidies for a family of http://dagblog.com/comment/243862#comment-243862
In reply to Trump Killing ACA Subsidies for Low Income Americans

The subsidies for a family of 4, note a family with an income of $35,000 can get a silver plan for about $100 a month, subsidy of $6,917.:

Fri, 13 Oct 2017 13:38:09 +0000 NCD comment 243862 at http://dagblog.com
