Yes, but when he starts telling companies/teams & individuals what they're allowed to say or do, it's become a more basic freedom of speech issue.Granted, the police abuse message seems to be geting through - finally - but I think what produced unity was more the "don't tell me what I can do" that any American is touchy about.

I don't think Trump got anyone to hate the NFL. I don't think he changed anyone's mind. He simply highlighted an issue and that pushed people to voice their previously held beliefs.

Polling suggests that the majority of Americans and an even higher percentage who self-describe as football fans realize that the protests are about police abuse. The message of the players has gotten across. People may not like the protests, but they do know what message the protests are sending.
