Late to the party here, but interesting that there was an 1860 proposal, the Corwin Amendment, that would have allowed slavery forevermore that Lincoln was down with, but he drew the line (or literally erased the line) that would have extended the divide physically coast to coast - a bridge too far for him. Maybe old news for many, but something new for me... Guess this is the kind of compromise that Kelly is looking for in his life - "half-atrocity is good enough, let's get on with it..."

La David Johnson’s widow confirms the story told by Representative Frederica S. Wilson told. The widow did not appreciate the tone of Trump’s comments. She confirmed that Trump said “He knew what he signed up for”. She also stated that Trump did not remember her husband’s name. Trump tweeted response to the widow’s words was to “politely” call the widow a liar
