Idunno, I'm starting to warm to him. One of my New Year's Resolutions is to "Like Trump Better". Being post-policy is probably a good thing, no?

Then again, "Get Rid of the Clown" makes a nice bumper sticker. I liked that trending moment in 2017 when Clowns were seemingly omnipresent. Now we've had our fill of them, it's back to the circus trunk.

What hit me about this is the same thing as in this great comment from oceankat from a week ago where he points out that Trump hatred skews policy question polls Now virtually every democrat hates Trump. And almost every democrat leaning independent hates Trump. Even many of the moderate republicans hate Trump. Any policy question will be skewed by that Trump hatred. The most passion and numbers in this country right now is in the "we fucking hate Trump" demographic.

"We fucking hate Trump", that's where your majority coalition political activism is just sitting and waiting for pitchforks to be given to them. Trump's a uniter because of, not despite, his best efforts. You can't define what policy they like or don't, because they know Trump doesn't have any policies either. That's why they hate him...they'll just take anyone with any real policies, anyone who will get rid of the clown and be a real president again.
