Dionne, Jr. sometimes does to me. She'll call out supposed GOP moderates like Susan Collins when they wilt, as on the tax legislation just passed, and praise GOP figures when they do something positive for a change. And she'll call BS where she sees it, as when Rubio "held out" for some modification of the child care tax credit when insiders knew there was not a chance in hell he was going to vote no, no matter whether they offered him anything more than a fig leaf. She's been just as relentless calling out the GOP Congress and its leadership as she has been with calling out the Trump Administration, all with just the facts. She even called out Sessions the other day for (further) setting the GOP back with millennials with his attempts to up federal enforcement of marijuana laws contrary to the laws of many states that have liberalized their laws.

If I compare her to perhaps the leading Democratic establishment opinion writer, Dionne, I observe she has been consistently more pointed and forceful, more prolific, and has not been the least reluctant to suggest specific courses of action or angles to advance the Trump-Russia investigation.

Fri, 05 Jan 2018 20:02:24 +0000 AmericanDreamer comment 246647 at http://dagblog.com just good to know someone http://dagblog.com/comment/246641#comment-246641
In reply to The Trump potboiler is important, even if you don't believe a lot of it

just good to know someone else here gets something out of reading her pieces; for me, it's helpful to know what sane conservatives are thinking

Since I pay for access to WaPo as well as NYT, I also like to check what Scarborough is yammering about, even though with him and Trump, it's clear that it's personal.
